LEAD HAND – Water & Sewer Construction
EXPECTED START DATE: April 2026
WCL is looking for an experienced Lead Hand to support the foreman with day-to-day operations on our underground water and sewer crews. This role bridges the gap between the foreman and crew, keeping work safe, organized, and productive.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- 3+ years experience in underground water and sewer construction.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Hand, Topman or Pipelayer.
- Strong understanding of pipe installation, line and grade, and trench operations.
- Ability to coordinate labourers, pipe layers, and operators.
- Comfortable directing work, solving problems, and keeping crews on task.
- Solid knowledge of trench safety and site safety practices.
- Able to communicate clearly with foremen and project supervision.
- Safety-focused with strong leadership skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
REQUIRED TICKETS:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- WHMIS & CSTS 2020 (or willing to obtain)
SCHEDULE:
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 8 hour Saturdays (some planned Saturdays off)
- Some rain days off
- Potential for backfill and prep work on some Sundays and long weekends
